How exactly are gas prices set? What determines the hair-pulling figure you see displayed in large electronic or plastic numbers? Why is a gallon of gas, say, $4.11 Ã;Â¢Ã¢â;;Â¬" not $4.10 or $4.12? Why is the price different across the street?

All joking aside, the price of gasoline wouldn't be so difficult to handle, if all the jobs that once existed in the USA, were still here, paying the good wages and benefits. I don't think that we should be taxed on the gasoline, because we already pay Federal Taxes, FCC taxes, State, City and local taxes. Didn't our forefathers have a Boston Tea party of excess taxation?
Actually, the 9/10 of a gallon, is what we are actually getting, not one gallon for the amount of money shown.
The prices here locally vary, usually higher than other cities close. This is the lake, with camping and boating.

Of course the major cost of gasoline is the cost of crude, duh!
The article stated that a US ship was fired upon so they raised the price of crude because they were afraid the oil supply could be disrupted. Let's see if we can make any sense out of this. Because there MIGHT have been a disruption they raised the price. Since it didn't happen why wasn't the price reduced? We are allowing speculaters and wall street brokers to affect the price of oil. Is this right? Of course not. Our government could change this, if they wanted to. Because they are doing nothing, it proves they don't want things to change. What we need is a change of people residing in our congress! Come on people let's get mad!

  Since most taxes are linked by percentage, I agree. The government is enjoying a windfall which they tend to use in other ways than their intended purpose.
