U.S. slashes reward for al Qaeda leader

Money – The Bush administration has slashed its reward for the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq from $5 million to $100,000 because it feels he's lost effectiveness and is no longer worth such a steep price.

Hmmm...is al Qaeda a threat to us then, or not? Or just not in Iraq? Were they ever?

avatar
Reply

Three thousand dead people say they are.

avatar
Reply

The 3,000 dead might say they died to take down Saddam, but not necessarily al Qaeda, as the original intent was to do the former and secure what little WMDs there were.

avatar
Reply

You really think ANY military personnel would be willing to take down Saddam but not fight al Qaeda? Think about it. The answer is pretty obvious.

avatar
Reply

I didn't say military personnel would fight one but not the other; I merely said that originally soldiers were sent in to Iraq to take down Saddam. al Qaeda presence was not mentioned as often as a concern early in the fighting.

Unusualsuspect, I would suggest you study in depth the enemy that wants YOU and ALL of YOUR FAMILY members DEAD TODAY IF POSSIBLE! You are living in a dream world! No need to reply, I'm not interested in arguing with folks on this board.

:)

As a part of your in-depth study materials, do you have any information on just how many folks are in al-qaeda iraq? (NOT al-gaeda; just al-gaeda iraq).

It seems to me that this is one of thee most basic questions to ask in an in-depth study, yet nobody seems to have a credible answer.

It only took 19 to bring down the World Trade Center, damage the Pentagon and kill nearly 3000 innocent civilians. That's all the "in-depth study materials" I need to know.

But again, the war has killed far more than that and hasn't brought us any closer to Bin Laden. It hasn't ended terrorism. If anything, it has made it worse.

So who is a bigger threat?

avatar
Reply

That's because the US hasn't been after Bin Laden and had no real intention of going after anyone having anything to do with 9/11. Which is why we invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and have since insisted on securing all the oil contracts within Iraq.

At the cost of more than a million dead Iraqis.

avatar
Reply

Worse how?

avatar
Reply

19 carried out the act.. many more were involved in logistics and planning..

some of which are NOT in custody.. why because we had to remove Saddam .. who HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 911..

avatar
Reply

Kville...If you're not interested in arguing or any kind of discussion, why bother to even post?

Actually, in my original post on this subject, I mistook Drops statement...I thought he meant the number of Americans killed in Iraq, but now I see he meant the 3000 who died on 9/11. My error...

avatar
Reply

I was referring to the WTC casualties.

avatar
Reply

And the WTC attack had to do with Iraq HOW? Remember, al Qaeda had virtually NO presence in Iraq before your hero Bush opened the door for them. Ansar al-Islam operated in Northern Iraq ONLY because the US no-fly zone prevented Saddam from getting his helicopter gunships up there to blow them to pieces.

The real al Qaeda, the one that launched the attacks on the WTC and killed 3000 Americans, is the one your hero Bush deliberately let slip through his fingers in Afghanistan so he could continuously use them as a fear-mongering tool to get the Iraq invasion he wanted. That's killed 4,000 plus more Americans. For what? To enrich his cronies in Halibruton, KBR and Blackwater, etc.

The Iraq debacle has made America LESS safe. It has helped al Qaeda reconstitute itself. Do you really think an additional 4,000 dead for such foolish reasons makes the WTC families feel better for their loss?

The President didn't clear the Iraq war with me first. I commented on its pitfalls from the beginning.

avatar
Reply

That still doesn't answer how it conflates with 9/11.

avatar
Reply

Feel free to ask a policy-maker.

avatar
Reply

Um...the war has killed more Americans than that. Who is the real threat to our nation?

avatar
Reply

I would say terrorists since terrorists killed the WTC victims and our soldiers.

avatar
Reply

No, shrub is finally showing fiscal responsibility by trying to balance the budget....lol

avatar
Reply

Once again, this administration has shown it's committment in capturing and bringing to justice members of al Qaeda.

avatar
Reply

Actually, the Army has already killed many of the leaders of Al Qaeda in Iraq. Perhaps the remaining ones are of considerably less importance.

avatar
Reply

It shows al Qaeda has taken a beating and isn't nearly the threat it once was. Plus, Iraq itself is handling more and more of its own security. It's an obvious sign of progress.

One man with a purpose is a threat, remember "Barney Miller/" a grade 12 student built a bomb, all he needed was plutonium

"Barney Miller"?!? THAT'S your frame of reference, Hannibull-crap?!?

God, you really ARE the leaker I always thought you were. Even being Canadian isn't an excuse for you anymore. Be careful. Your fellow Cana-duh-ians are liable to boot you out of Cana-duh, which means we'll have to deal with your sorry, welfare-sucking ass HERE. Great. Just what we need. Another fat, uneducated, unemployed illegal immigrant, mouthing off about how much he hates our country. Oh well, we've managed to absorb MILLIONS of them, what's one more....

Well don't get used to it, because if the Foot Locker salesboy with the sh*t-eating grin gets elected president and brings his Muslim extended-family members into the White House, you can kiss goodbye the progress made and the footholds gained by the Bush Administration over the past seven years.

It's not that I'm saying he has Islamic rebels or Hezbollah members in his family tree. It's that I'm saying I don't know WHAT he has in his family tree, since he never talks about it, avoids discussing it, and has done everything he can to hide the issue of the 8 or 9 half-brothers and sisters who are all over the place - Africa, the Middle East, China... I would think that somebody who expects to be elected as president of the United States would come clean about his family - who they are, where they are, what relationship he has with them...

avatar
Reply

CONT.

But then coming clean and being upfront about his associates has not been his long suit, nor has showing good judgement.

And speaking of long suits, when is he going to get a tailor to fit him with a proper suit for his lanky frame? It bugs me that his wrists and ankles stick out like Ichabod Crane, but then I digress. That's a matter of personal taste, not an issue for whether he'd be a good candidate or not.

Back to the issue at hand, which is: As a presidential contender, I want to know who his family is, where they are and if he plans on bringing them into the country and giving them access to the Washington. The last thing we need is a bunch of be-robed Muslim radicals running all over the White House lawn and the Lincoln bedroom.

NUMPTY: Does that mean you are also for Mrs McC opening here tax returns??? No that is private as she is a Rep, NUMPTY, every time you post your ridiculous comments I get a sore rtomach from laughing...ohhh dense one you are better than the comedy channel.....LMAO

Ah, sainte...sigh...

The least forth-coming President of information regarding himself or the state of our nation is Bush. Talk to Bush about coming clean on his miltary records, sainte...hiding them, possibly having them destroyed. Most people who run for office are usually proud of their military record...Bush hid his. Wonder why?

He's secretive, and has had the least number of press conferences of any modern day American President. Compare him to Reagan, who was out there in front of the cameras a lot, talking with us, informing us.

Obama can only improve on the secretiveness that Bush has had.

avatar
Reply

Dipsquats, I'm talking about his family members, not his military record. Everybody KNOWS Obama has no military record.

I want to know about his family members. Who are they? Where are they? What are they to him? Why won't he talk about them? Are they indeed Muslim, and if so, who are THEY involved with? Since they live in foreign countries, some of which are hostile to the U.S., I want full disclosure on them, their affiliations and their ties with Obama. I don't think this is too much to ask of the person who wants to become president of MY country.

Say what you want about Bush, but we knew EXACTLY who his parents, siblings, in-laws and relatives were. Can't say the same for shady, shifty, dysfunctional-family Obama.

NUMPTY; as usual you never answer, what about Mrs. McC, is she not subject to the same?....oh dense one keep putting you feet in your yap, as there is sure a lot of room there.....LMAO

(SIGH....)

What is it about making alot of money that so repulses you Canadian rubes? I swear, if anyone makes more money than the Socialist Canadian government allows its people to make, you get all hotter than a pistol, and start accusing people of being "greedy, rich, evil bastards" or some such sh*t. Honestly, Hanniful-o-stuffin', you really need to get over your paltry earnings and face the fact that most of the world is wealthier than you are.

But since you brought it up, yes, I think Mrs. McCain AND her husband should release their income tax statements. I'd be interested to see whether they paid their fair share or not, as I would anyone else.

Of course, what this has to do with what I was talking about above, regarding Obama's family members - I'll never know. But then figuring out what angle you're getting at, Hannifull-of-it, or what you're trying to prove, remains one of life's great mysteries.

Keep collecting those welfare checks, Bar-crap.

"Wow. I don't think I've seen such a racist, horrifying comment from you in a while."

(SIGH.....)

If you've been reading my posts for the last 7 or 8 months (and I know you have, Diodipsh*t), you'll know that I've been in support of Condoleezza Rice for president. She is my number one choice, and this country would be lucky to have her as our leader. I've also been a strong supporter of Colin Powell, and would campaign for him, should he ever decide to run one day. I've stated this over and over and over again. A black woman, and a black man - - two of my top picks for president. Does that sound like I'm a "horrifying racist"?

I refer to Obama as the "Foot Locker salesboy" because of his supreme lack of experience, his sh*t-eating grin, and his over-eagerness to seem to want to please everybody with his jive talk. All qualities which would suit him well in the area of shoe sales.
