Not that simple. In order to manufacure, a business would probably have to purchase some of its product components from overseas, where they would have to pay more in US dollars, because our dollar is worth less than their currency. Hard to get all you need here, because so many companies relocated overseas because of cheaper labor costs. Anyway, the provided link gives some explanation of the problems we'll meet with our weak dollar.

The price of gas, when adjusted for inflation, was nearly constant for about 20 years (since mid 80s) but nearly doubled in the last four years.
Is all hopeless? maybe not. In the late 70s early 80s the price rapidly increased, but then decreased as OPEC calmed down.

Now this is weird...the price of oil on 9/11 was around $28/Bbl, now almost 4 times as much, the oil companies made somewhere near $150 Bill profit last year, the war industry has had a 20%-25% profit margin ever since 9/11 and who does the WH send to see if this oil price gouging can be stopped???

Actually this is what happens when you have a bunch of uneducated Americans that don't know the difference between profit and a profit margin screaming "we are paying to much for gasoline" and then they turn around and yell "well we can't drill for oil in Alaska! We might displace a bear or two!" Get a grip people the oil companies are making record profits because American are using a record amount of fuel and yet for some reason they are determined to have to rely on other countries to get it.

And we need a Propeller story to tell us this .
Stories like are meant to inflame and blind people to the fact that they are getting screwed .
We print it , they vent about it , we are safe .
And any moron that thinks this is good for the society is just as stated , either must be a Environmentalist or Big Oil P.R. person .
Causing sorrow and heart ache , by not knowing where the next meal is coming from because of the steady rise in prices , oh yeah good economics .
Hybrid cars contain more toxic waste , means more toxic waste to dispose of , but no place to put it , oh yeah good for the environment .

For example, the size of cars that people drive, how near to work they choose to live, how much pleasure driving that they do, the choice of investing in energy-saving windows and better insulation in the home, the temperatures to which people air condition in the summer.

The Hanyman has a point - however, you should all be prepared for a bigger PERSONAL deficit as well. The problem isn't so much with gasoline. Sure, we can all drive hybrids, take a bus, walk, etc. - the problem is TRUCKS, AIRPLANES, SHIPS, TRAINS - that use DIESEL fuel and MUST operate to keep the country fed and supplied. There is not that much that can be done about the DEMAND for Diesel. Certainly not short term. Around here, diesel is now selling at about $ 4.15 per gallon. And at 5 to 7 MPG that adds up QUICK. The added cost is GOING to be tacked on to everything you buy that was ever in a truck or on a train or ship. And that, my friends, is damn near EVERYTHING.

Our lives controled by money.
Controled by Big Business and the government.
They control everything including what rights you have.
We gave up our freedom long time ago.
Capitalism is no more about freedom than Communism.
People who say this government is about freedom are Fool's.
We are slowly losing our rights at home by the same one's who are telling us were fighting for it over seas.
They are setting up a new society and it doesn't include Freedom and liberty in their plans.
