Posted by: populist 11 months agoAmerica is broke; bankrupt on almost every level. We are culturally lacking, spiritually missing, educationally deprived and economically in deep debt. Our trade deficit and debt to China, the World Bank, and Japan are only symptoms of a wider and more pervasive bankruptcy.

America's been bankrupt. Ever since 1933, America's been bankrupt. Why do you think you've got that wonderful SS#? We're born into slavery. We've got nothing left, except our military. That's why your politicians aren't doing anything about the war in Iraq--WE'RE BANKRUPT and the war's the only thing keeping us afloat. We're 9 trillion in the red on the books; even more off the books.

As long as our politicans allow our companys to ship jobs overseas to scab labor, it will continue,,giving a communist country our money, and jobs is just plain unpatriotic, but as long as our pols get thier kickbacks from the american companys it will continure..GREED,,We are being sold down the river by GREED..
Tariffs is what other countrys else use..but--"We have free trade"...Sounds great, but--it is just another way to outsource jobs from this country..for scab wages..
Illegal aliens?? Just more scab labor in this country, allowed by our pols..Why?? Money--money in the pols pocket..More "Crooked" pols...
We need -- BUY AMERICAN---Keep americans working..Want a foriegn car,,go live there..
Our politicnas are all corrupt..we need a change..we should never re elect any pol..No more "career" pols...they get too much power, and power corrupts..
Pretty soon we will have pols as corrupt as in Mexico..

We already rate 17th in the world in political corruption and are accelerating our downward cycle.
The real problem has been the robbing of average americans to favor an ever smaller class of super rich by the politics started by Reagan. Average Americans no longer have the wherewithall to invest in their own future and the super rich have proven incompetent in investing resources for the benefit of America.
Reagan made us the biggest debtors in the world and under sonny bush, we now pay more to foreigners than we earn from our overseas investments. The politicians/financiers have been manipulating the "free market" for their own benefit for some time now. Their bubbles are about to burst.

There are no such thing as "as corrupt as in Mexico". Once corrupted, they will do whatever they want (maybe under the radar).
Corporations make all the calls through their representatives in the government. They want globalisation for more profits. These global corporations have no national boundaries. Bankrupting a nation is like closing down a money losing department in the company.
Unfortunately I have no solution to this globalisation mess. How many of us is willing to pay more for an item instead of buying the same item a lot less from a low costs country?

We are being told that all looks pretty good with a few exceptions. We are being fed a load of you know what.
Sad to see OUR Great country in the shape that it's in all because of Greedy, uncaring, ruthless people thinking only of themselves.

This artical does reflect alot of truths about America, What i don't understand is why the average American seems to be intelligent and level headed about most things and yet your government, present and past, have an opinion that they are better than the nations of the world, and they have a completly different mentality from the people. I think the part about lobbiest is right on, it seems once people get elected the voter no longer exists, well not for a couple of years. The Idea of we are the best, and we always win has found it's way to the very heart of American Idology and when a person gets elected they do everthing to get ahead personally.

America used to have one of the best educational systems, but is being overtaken by other countries.
US university enrolment 'in decline'
Participation in higher education has stagnated and even gone into decline for the first time in the US... many EU countries have caught up or even exceeded participation rates in the US....

A large part of the failure of our educational system is the lack of any kind of critical thinking in the syllabus. We are taught to memorize a few facts, perhaps do some math and make sure we can pass the tests. But critical thinking? That should be one of the most important parts of our education and seems to be totally lacking.

Quite a long list, a train really, of the corruption and abuse of America and the taking, well usurpation is more accurate, of our rights. Hmmm?
