      I think that the better approach for the scenarios outlined in this post would be a debt management program. Also known as a DMP, this type of program allows consumers to repay their debt over time and are generally viewed as favorable by both the account holders and the credit bureaus alike. Debt settlement, on the other hand, can be a slippery slope and wind up hurting your credit in the long run. Debt consolidation is good but often requires some sort of equity like from a home.
