"I'm expecting prices to edge back up again, probably some time around the second half of August ... I expect prices to peak right before the end of summer driving season.''
Toews said Canadians tend to take to the road in mid-August to take advantage of the waning days of summer.
"People want to get their last trip in before the kids go back to school and summer is really over.''

I'm sort of glad to be out of California. The price of fuel in L.A. was becoming so pricey I resorted to riding my bike to work and driving about 2/3 less than before. Fuel in the city where I live now is noticeably cheaper, but I still ride my bike more than I drive. I don't see how people that drive on a daily basis and use their vehicle as primary transportation do it.

I found a gas receipt from Jan 2007. I paid 185 for gas just a few months ago, now it is over 3........it is a joke.

RedRiverJ-yes, it is a joke & somebody is getting rich, ie/bush/cheney & big oil-gimme a break-enough of this nonsense & hybrid cars-no way. As a 30 year coal miner, we have the resources to produce gas from coal, in an environmentally way-i am against nuclear all the way, but, i like windpower

We have averaged 2.75 per gallon of Diesel from Florida to Wisconsin, but it got expensive near Chicago.

Wasn't it just yesterday we were reading a story about how gas prices had EASED? Shouldn't the oil companies wait at least a few days before setting us up for the next price jump? You know, just to maintain the fiction that market forces have anything to do with gas prices.
