Customers will get a cell phone alert about two hours before Meijer plans to increase gas prices, giving them a chance to fill their tanks first.

Now if all the rest would do this then it would be awesome.

That's a great idea! Gives people some time to run out & fill up. I filled mine up a few weeks ago, just minutes before prices jumped 10cents. Just luck.

That's great this will add 10 cents to the cost of your gas. Because that what it will cost you to get the text message that gas is going up!

Who needs an alert? Gas prices always go up 5 minutes before I get a fillup

Exactly! I could just notify everyone that I am planning on filling up and as long as they do before me they should make it just before the increase. It never fails!

This may be a noble move by the gasoline company. However, how much can the average consumer save? Perhaps just that tankful before the price hike and thereafter the new price will prevail.
