The unscheduled price adjustment results from the ongoing and rapid escalation in world market prices for refined gasoline products.

I thought stuff like this was supposed to be regulated and supervised!..."an unscheduled adjustment in gasoline"...

This is unheard of! I mean, what the hell!

At $2.49 and rising you were right to fill up, it's only going to cost more tomorrow. I'd fill my pockets up as well.

I filled up two days ago, so hadn't noticed an increase. I'll have to check tomorrow. Good grief, this would be an awful blow to people.

not sure if it matters, but the story is about gas prices IN CANADA, not the US.... i dont think this will affect us at all, our prices are already going up, LOL... we'll see $3/gal US again before long.

I just heard a report on Nova M Radio that Exxon is in a buy back program and wants to get gas prices to $50.00 a barrel. The report was out of Europe.

Hold on a second. This article refers to the Island Regulatory Commission. This article is from Prince Edward Island Canada, and appears to apply to one province only. Great article, and thanks for the warning, but does it mean necessarily prices are going up in the US?

                  It really sucks.

Unemployment dropped another .1% last month. Down to 4.6%

                  This is terrible.

I would be HAPPY to pay $2.49. When prices went down the cheapest I paid was $2.40. Last night it was $2.79. I'm guessing that today it will be close to $2.90. THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS! (Northeastern NY)

Same ballpark here in Seattle. Would LOVE to see $2.40! For those freaking at the idea of a $3 summer - A gasoline economist in California yesterday said it was more probable we would see a $4 summer.

Any one notice all the Exxon-Mobil commercials lately? Especialy during the prime time evening news.

It is going up here in Fla to. They say a lot of it has to do with the spring fuel change over.....normal BS for hiking the cost.

What happened to the 2.06 a gallon just a few months ago? It has gone up .13 cents in one week here. Wouldn't everybody like to increase their income in the same manner as the oil companies..Just plain WRONG...

Winter weather is now moderating over most of the country & that reduces heating costs. So, the oil companies raise prices to keep their profits up. $.40 a gallon here (S.W. Va.) since the Nov. election.

Feb was a bad month and people are now refilling their heating oil tanks.

So demand for heating oil spikes when the refineries are trying to make more gasoline for spring. This leads to less gasoline when supplies should be increasing.

Thus prices rise until supply and demand are in balance.

It is too bad they don't teach economics in school.

Monopolies can dictate any price they want. I would be surprised if by midsummer that the price at the pump will be less than $3.69 per gallon.

Last fall the price went up because they said the winter blends were more expensive to produce. Now they say that the summer blends are the more expensive.Big oil has been getting away with this crap for years.Of course it's even easier when you have friends in the highest places. When does thier war on terrorists get to these domestic thieves?

What about big pharma. Big telco. And worst of all big cable.

There is only one major aircraft producer in America.

Plus how about big computer. Big auto. Water and sewer monopolies. Big garbage. Man I have a list.

Once a company gets big the government should buy it and run it. Then we will have low prices and high wages.
